Group picnics and events
Good picnic spots are located throughout the park.
For a small fee, large groups (over 25) can pre-book sites at Whareroa and Paekakariki. Please contact the park ranger at least two weeks prior to your intended visit. The ranger will issue you a permit and allocate a picnic site.
Maps of the picnic site are available to download.
A "first in first served" arrangement operates for groups of fewer than 25 people. This is free of charge.
