What action can we take?

We can take enforcement action against consent holders who breach their consent conditions. Enforcement action includes written warnings, infringement notices (fines), abatement notices and court action, such as prosecutions or enforcement orders.

How to report non-compliance

Greater Wellington provides a 24-hour incident response service to deal with pollution complaints and non-compliance with the Resource Management Act. If you believe a consent holder is not complying with their resource consent, please let us know and we will investigate your concerns.
