Contact Greater Wellington's Care Group Facilitator, Richard Morgan on 04 830 4123 or 0800 496 734.

What has the group done?

The group recieved their first round of funding in the 07/08 financial year. They have focussed on tidying up the site and removing rubbish andweeds. Working Bees often resullt in a treasure trove of historic items!

The group are working on educatingthe local community about environmental issues. The stream is a good example of howstormwater and runoff from roads can negativly effect stream habitats. Students from local schools are designing a logo for the group, and this will be added to an informative sign about the project.

110 plants were established in record time along the lower banks of the site in August 2007. These plants were specially chosen after a vegetation survey of the area was carried out by botanists Chris Horne and Barbara Mitcalfe.
